Digital courses related to water resources development are being developed by Universities in the Nile Basin. Some of the courses are listed here as pilot courses.
This course will focus only on text IR and will introduce students to the underlying theories and algorithms of IR systems, the methods and measures that can be used to evaluate such systems. The core components of this course include statistical characteristics of textual documents; representation of documents and queries; query languages and operations; Data/File Structures and Algorithms for IR; retrieval models; document clustering and classification; and user-system interactions. A variety of current research topics will also be discussed as part of the course.
Hydropower Engineering is a course that carries you through the concept of harnessing the energy of flowing water, makes you familiar with the different layouts of hydropower schemes, and introduces you to the hydraulic design aspects of the various components of hydropower schemes.
